Board Member at US Acute Care Solutions

Cheryl Conner is on the board of directors for US Acute Care Solutions. Previously, she served as president of the USACS Southwest region. She served as CEO of Emergency Service Partners, L.P. for more than 20 years until ESP joined USACS as a founding partner in 2017.

A graduate of the University of Texas, Conner’s management career includes roles as an emergency department director as well as in hospital administration, human resources, quality management, and consulting. After working as a nurse at Austin’s Brackenridge Hospital, she progressed to Director of the Seton Hospital Emergency Department and Outpatient Services. Conner served as Director of Quality Improvement at Brackenridge before being recruited in 1994 by ESP’s founding physicians to manage their group’s business. Under her leadership, ESP grew from serving three hospital EDs to supporting more than 35 facilities across Texas, representing approximately 1 million patient visits annually across multiple service lines.

Conner’s successes include creating software to measure individual physician quality performance that sold to more than 200 hospitals nationwide, designing one of the nation’s first case management programs, and creating cross functional, multi-leveled quality improvement programs. She also worked with UT’s business school to develop a joint MSN/MBA program with the School of Nursing. Conner has twice been named a finalist for the Austin Business Journal’s Profiles in Power: Women of Influence award.

Throughout her career, Conner has advocated on behalf of not only emergency physicians, but also the patients they serve. Conner received the Founders’ Award in recognition of more than a decade of service on the board and executive committee of the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA).
