Sam Roberts

Board Member at US Acute Care Solutions

Dr. Sam Roberts serves on the board of US Acute Care Solutions and also serves as a chief medical officer and chair of the Clinical Governance Board of USACS South. A board-certified emergency physician, he brings nearly 40 years of clinical and management experience to these various leadership roles.

In 1988, Dr. Roberts co-founded Emergency Service Partners, L.P., a founding partner of USACS. He served on the board of managers and the executive committee of the physician partnership for nearly 30 years, fostering sustained growth while maintaining a commitment to exceptional patient care.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Roberts served as the emergency department medical director at Seton Medical Center Austin, where he continues to work clinically. Dr. Roberts has been chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee for the Seton Healthcare Family for more than 20 years; he also served as president of the Seton Family of Hospitals medical staff and as chief of staff for Seton Medical Center Austin. He currently serves as a board member for the Seton Fund and Seton Health Affiliates, and joined the Ascension Health Medication Management Steering Committee in 2015; he previously served on the board of Ascension Texas Healthcare. Dr. Roberts has also been a Physician Reviewer for The Texas Medical Board and the Texas Medical Foundation Health Quality Institute. He served as chair of the Central Texas Area for the American Heart Association’s Operation Heartbeat, an effort to standardize and improve the area’s cardiac care and sudden cardiac arrest survival rate, and helped to start the Mission Lifeline Project to improve STEMI care in the region.

Dr. Roberts earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine; he also was certified by the Board of Forensic Examiners.
