Barry Phelps

Barry Phelps has extensive leadership experience across various technology and telecommunications companies. Currently serving as Executive Chairman and Chairman & CEO of Empower RF Systems since October 2007, Barry also holds director positions at US Auto Parts and Empower RF, in addition to being a trustee at St Lawrence University since July 2002. Previously, Barry was a director at BreakingPoint Systems and held significant roles at Spirent Communications and Somera Communications, including Division President and Board member, respectively. Earlier in his career, Barry was President and CEO of Netcom Systems and Chairman and CEO of Micom Systems. Barry’s foundational experience in financial management at Burroughs Corporation complements an educational background with an MBA from the University of Rochester and a B.S. in Math/Economics from St. Lawrence University.
