Sam Johnson

Chief Information Officer at US Eagle Federal Credit Union

Sam Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. From 1999 to 2005, they worked at Citi as a Manager, overseeing a team of 20 customer service and collection representatives for a $2.3 billion credit card portfolio.

In 2005, they joined United Way as a Loaned Executive and stayed with the organization until 2006.

From 2005 to 2008, they worked at Bank of Albuquerque, first as a Credit Analyst creating underwriting documents for commercial loans, and then as a Loan Officer managing over $20 million in loans and providing financial consulting to clients.

From 2008 to 2016, they joined Rinchem, where they held various roles. Sam started as a Project Manager, improving business processes and financial performance through software selection and implementation. Sam then became the General Manager, leading the domestic and international transport business divisions. Sam successfully turned around an unprofitable segment of the company and built a strong team. Finally, they served as the IT Applications & Development Manager, developing and managing the company's IT strategy and vision, and overseeing software development teams and vendors.

Since 2016, Sam has been with US Eagle Federal Credit Union. Sam started as the Vice President of Information Technology, leading the IT Applications, Development, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Project Management. Since 2022, they hold the position of Chief Information Officer, responsible for the IT strategy and meeting the members' needs.

Through their experience, Sam has demonstrated expertise in IT, finance, project management, and building high-performing teams.

Sam Johnson's education history begins in 1999 when they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a focus on Portuguese from the UNM Anderson School of Management. Sam then pursued further education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Management of Technology from the same institution, graduating in 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Sam Johnson has also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they achieved the ITIL Foundations v3 certification from PEOPLECERT. The following year, in 2015, they obtained the ITIL in Service Design certification from the same institution. Furthermore, they completed a Tableau Fundamentals course from Tableau Software and a CBAP/CCBA Certification Prep Boot Camp from ASPE, a division of Fortis College. In the same year, they also acquired a certification in Service NOW Administration from ServiceNow – The Enterprise Cloud Company.
