John Havel has extensive experience in research and design, particularly in the fields of historical study and graphic design. Currently serving as a Historian/Researcher for Havel Research Associates since January 2018, John focuses on the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Concurrently, John has been a contractor for SRA International, Inc. and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency since September 2000, providing graphic design services. Previous positions include Imaging Specialist/Museum Curator at Replacements, Ltd., Manager of Visual Design at North Carolina State University, Project Coordinator at Training and Development Resources, and Computer Graphics Artist at Symetrix Corporation. John began a career in curatorial roles as Curator of Exhibits at the North Carolina Museum of History. John's educational background includes a BA in Fine Arts from Kean University and an AA in Social Science & Humanities from Bergen Community College.
