Biologist, Safer Choice Program at US Environmental Protection Agency

Laura Romano is a biologist with extensive experience at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where from January 2017 to the present, Laura has served as a technical authority for the Safer Choice Program, overseeing reviews for approximately 2,000 certified products. Previous roles at EPA include leading the strategic direction for the America's Children and the Environment report and performing volunteer work as a student while pursuing a Master of Public Health. Laura has also participated in the Excellence in Government Fellowship, a prestigious leadership development program for senior federal employees. Prior to EPA, Laura worked as an analyst at Abt Associates, managing projects related to chemical market profiles for health risk assessments and coordinating outreach for the Green Chemistry Program. Laura holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Science and Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Dickinson College.
