Matthew Castelli

Matthew Castelli serves as a Senior Assistant Regional Counsel at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since February 2017, focusing on prosecuting civil environmental cases under various federal statutes and advising on environmental policy issues. Prior experience includes roles as an Enforcement Attorney and Honors Attorney Fellow at Holland & Hart LLP, where projects spanned multiple areas of environmental law. Earlier, Matthew held positions as a Summer Clerk and Associate Attorney at Holland & Hart LLP and a Summer Associate at the Environmental Law Group, contributing to toxic tort litigation and legal research. Additionally, experience includes a legal internship at the Southern Environmental Law Center and a fellowship with the Piedmont Environmental Council, where research was conducted on critical environmental policies and legal issues. Matthew holds a Juris Doctor degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Richmond.
