Sharyn Lie

Director, Climate Change Division at US Environmental Protection Agency

Sharyn Lie serves as the Director of the Climate Change Division at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since July 2023, focusing on the development of innovative programs addressing climate change, including the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program and the Global Methane Initiative. Prior to this role, Sharyn held the position of Director at the Climate Economics and Modeling Center within the Transportation and Climate Division at the EPA from December 2011 to 2023, and worked as the Deputy Associate Director for Energy and Climate Change at the White House Council on Environmental Quality in 2011. Earlier experience includes roles as an Economist at the EPA from 2004 to 2011 and a Policy Analyst at Shaw Environmental, Inc. from 2001 to 2004. Sharyn began a career in environmental services as a Business Analyst at AMS from 1998 to 2001. Educational background includes a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a BA in Geology and Economics from Rice University.
