Julio Avila

Julio Avila is an experienced journalist with a strong background in broadcasting. Since January 2022, Julio has served as a reporter for News 12 the Bronx. Prior to this role, Julio was a news reporter at WTKR News 3 from August 2019 to September 2021 and worked as a reporter and anchor for WETM-TV (NBC) from July 2017 to July 2019. Additionally, Julio interned at WABC-TV's consumer segment, 7 On Your Side, in August 2016, and held internships at WSHU Public Radio Group and Long Islander in 2016 and 2015, respectively. Julio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a focus on Broadcast Journalism from Stony Brook University and an Associate’s degree in Journalism from Suffolk County Community College.
