Gabriel Girard

Gabriel Girard is an accomplished speed skating coach and former athlete with extensive experience in leading teams to success at various competitive levels. Currently serving as the Head Coach for US Speedskating since October 2019, Gabriel has achieved notable accomplishments, including a bronze medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympics and multiple World Cup titles. Prior coaching roles include Head Coach for Team GER and Team NL from 2016 to 2019, contributing to the German Olympic team in 2018, and Assistant Coach for Team Netherlands during a championship-winning year in 2016. Gabriel also held coaching positions with Team Québec and Team Suisse, focusing on athlete development and team leadership. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and Health from Université Laval, a Canadian Teaching License, and advanced coaching certification in high performance and athlete development.
