David Ponder

Director Of Climate Action at US Water Alliance

David Ponder currently serves as the Director of Climate Action at the US Water Alliance, a position held since April 2023. Prior to this role, David contributed to the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities as both an Environmental Analyst and Senior Environmental Sustainability Scientist from January 2015 to April 2023, focusing on sustainability initiatives related to waste, energy, and carbon management. Additional experience includes serving as a Sustainability Consultant at Good Company, a Research Analyst at the Appalachian Energy Center, and as Executive Director of the Montana Public Interest Group, where strategic planning and public policy initiatives were key responsibilities. David began a career in advocacy as the Citizen Outreach Director at the Fund for Public Interest Research. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Development from Appalachian State University.
