Mike Petri is an experienced educator and rugby athlete with a diverse background in teaching and coaching. Currently serving as a Science and Math Teacher at Xavier High School since January 2012, Mike teaches subjects including Biology, Physics, Algebra, and Anatomy/Physiology. In addition, Mike holds roles as the Assistant Varsity Rugby Coach and Co-Director of a summer Strength and Conditioning program. As the owner of R is for Rugby LLC, Mike authored and self-published a rhyming children's book. Competing as an athlete, Mike participated in three Rugby World Cup Tournaments and two Junior World Championships, and was the Vice Captain of the USA team in the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Additionally, Mike has held positions in project management and camp direction, demonstrating a multifaceted professional portfolio supported by a Bachelor's Degree in Life Science and Business from Penn State University, and a Master's Degree from Saint Joseph's University.

Established in 1975, USA Rugby is the governing body for the sport of rugby in the United States and a Full Sport Member of the United States Olympic Committee. Currently headquartered in Glendale, Colorado, USA Rugby is charged with developing the game on all levels and has more than 100,000 active members across the Youth, High School, College and Senior Club level. USA Rugby oversees four senior national teams, multiple junior national development programs and an emerging Olympic development pathway for elite athletes.
