Ashley Lewis

Ashley Lewis (Shaffer) is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in audience engagement and social media strategy. Currently serving as the Managing Editor for Audience at USA TODAY since September 2018, Ashley has held various leadership roles within the organization, including Deputy Managing Editor and Audience Editor. Prior to USA TODAY, Ashley was the Head of Social Media at Headspace Inc., where a pioneering strategy was developed to enhance member engagement and retention. Ashley's career in media includes significant positions at Condé Nast, where innovative social media collaborations were established for WIRED, as well as earlier roles as an Editorial Intern at Hawaii Business Magazine and Editor in Chief at OR Magazine. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oregon and completed the Leadership Academy for Women in Media at the Poynter Institute in September 2020.
