Bart Jansen is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience covering pivotal political issues and investigations. Currently a reporter for USA TODAY since September 2011, Jansen focuses on the Justice Department, particularly in relation to former President Donald Trump and the investigations surrounding him. Previous roles include Washington reporter for Gannett Co. Inc., where Jansen reported on Florida's congressional matters, and as a reporter for Congressional Quarterly during significant legislative debates. Jansen's early career included positions at the Portland Press Herald, The Associated Press, and various local newspapers, along with adjunct professor roles teaching journalism at Strayer University and the University of Maryland. Jansen holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Philosophy from the University of Iowa.
