Laura Trujillo

Laura Trujillo is a seasoned journalist and author with a diverse background in media leadership and public relations. Currently serving as a National Writer and Columnist for USA TODAY since July 2021, Laura also holds the position of Managing Editor for Life & Entertainment, overseeing a team of over 25 editors and reporters nationwide. As an author, Laura published the memoir "Stepping Back from the Ledge" in April 2022, which received accolades, including a spot in The New Yorker’s “Best Books of 2022.” Prior to that, experience includes serving as VP and Senior Manager for Public Relations at Fifth Third Bank, where strategic campaigns were executed to enhance the bank's brand reputation. Laura's career also features leadership roles as News Director at Cincinnati.com/Cincinnati Enquirer and Deputy Managing Editor at The Arizona Republic. Laura's educational background includes studies at Santa Clara University and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
