Phillip M. Bailey

Phillip M. Bailey is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in political reporting. Currently serving as Chief Political Correspondent and previously as National Political Correspondent for USA TODAY since July 2020, Phillip has contributed to a publication with a readership of approximately 2.6 million. Prior experience includes roles as a Political Writer at The Courier-Journal, where Phillip worked from April 2015 to July 2020, and as a columnist for Louisville Magazine. Phillip has also held positions such as Political Editor and host of the political talk show "Noise & Notes" at Louisville Public Media. Additional background includes serving as a staff writer for LEO Weekly and completing a fellowship at the Academy for Alternative Journalism. Phillip M. Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Louisville, earned in 2007.
