Robert Powell

Robert Powell, CFP®, RMA® is an experienced financial professional and educator specializing in retirement planning. Currently serving as the host of the "Decoding Retirement" podcast on Yahoo Finance since September 2024, Robert also volunteers as the treasurer for Swampscott Tides, a community newspaper. In addition, Robert has been a columnist for retirement issues at MarketWatch and USA TODAY since 2021 and 2013, respectively. With a strong focus on financial education, Robert co-founded FinStream.TV, a channel dedicated to personal finance, and holds the role of director of retirement education at Sensible Money, LLC. As the founder of Parting Glass Productions and the curriculum director for Salem State University's Elder Planning Specialist Program, Robert contributes significantly to developing resources for financial professionals. Additionally, Robert hosts the Investments and Wealth Institute's Exceptional Advisor Podcast and served as editor for Retirement Daily at TheStreet. Robert holds a master's degree in journalism from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in English literature from Marquette University.
