Trevor Hughes

Trevor Hughes is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in national reporting, currently serving as a Senior National Correspondent for USA TODAY since May 2008. In this role, Trevor specializes in covering significant disasters, mass shootings, and large-scale events, including key stories from Ukraine and the January 6 Capitol riots. Prior to this position, Trevor worked as a reporter focusing on the Rocky Mountain West at USA TODAY and covered breaking news events, including the Balloon Boy incident. Previous roles include staff reporter at the Fort Collins Coloradoan and reporter at Longmont Times-Call and State House News Service. Trevor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University, earned in 1997.
