Jill Lau

NEZ Olympic Development Program Coach at USA Water Polo

Jill Lau possesses extensive experience in coaching and leadership, currently serving as the NEZ Olympic Development Program Coach for USA Water Polo since October 2022, following a notable tenure as a youth coach since 2009. In addition to coaching, Jill has served as an officer in the US Navy since August 2014, specializing as an All-Source Analyst. Previous coaching roles include leading the Naval Academy Aquatic Club to championship victories and receiving accolades as CWPA Coach of the Year. Jill's background also includes significant involvement in environmental initiatives, such as working with The Pew Charitable Trusts on the Ending Illegal Fishing Project. Jill holds a Master of Public Policy from the Maryland School of Public Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, where contributions to student life and athletic programs were recognized.

USA Water Polo

USA Water Polo, Inc. is the national governing body for water polo in America, overseeing our United States Olympic program as well as 20 different championship events annually, such as Junior Olympics and Masters Championships. With more than 50,000 members, USAWP is also the sanctioning authority for more than 400 tournaments nationwide. USAWP is committed to the development of the sport nationwide. It fosters grass-roots expansion of the sport, providing a national system of affiliated clubs, certified coaches and officials. Mission Statement: The Mission of USA Water Polo shall be to grow the sport of water polo throughout the United States and win gold medals in Olympic, World Championship, and Pan American Games. Goals: Win gold medals in the sport of water polo at the Summer Olympic Games, Pan American Games, Federation Internationale de Natation ("FINA"​) World Championships, and other international competitions.
