Lance Clayton is an experienced professional in risk management and strategic planning, currently serving as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Risk Officer at USAA since January 2019. In this role, Lance oversees Strategic Planning and Performance, Governance, and Talent Strategy. Previously, as Assistant Vice President and Head of Bank Risk Strategy at USAA Bank, Lance led significant strategic and regulatory initiatives to enhance the Bank Risk and AML program. Prior to USAA, Lance held various leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from May 2007 to January 2019, focusing on business execution, transformation, and KYC implementation across several international regions. Lance also co-founded and managed 811 Ventures, LLC, where a successful bar was established in Downtown Frisco, Texas. Lance holds an education from East Texas A&M University.
