Larry Abel

Larry Abel is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in application development and technology enablement. Currently serving as AVP of Application Development and Executive Director of P&C IT Umbrella Modernization at USAA since March 2019, Larry is focused on modernizing the Property and Casualty sector for the future. Previous roles at USAA include Executive Director of P&C IT Technology Enablement and IT Technical Director of various divisions, where responsibilities included steering Agile adoption and leading large teams to deliver substantial features for insurance products. Larry spent over a decade at The Scooter Store, managing IT solutions and overseeing a significant operational budget. With a foundational career at USAA as a Systems Analyst and an early internship at American Income Life Insurance, Larry holds an MBA from the University of the Incarnate Word and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Tarleton State University.
