Mark Thompson

Mark Thompson is an accomplished technical executive currently serving as the AVP of Database Services & Availability Command Center at USAA, where they oversee the operational database infrastructure and manage IT infrastructure data and analytics services. With over 20 years of experience, Mark has successfully led various IT initiatives at USAA, including implementing the organization's first Database as a Service solution and significantly reducing incident occurrences within database operations. Mark's previous roles include Director of Technology Strategy and Director of Data Infrastructure, where they executed strategic projects and collaborations that advanced core technology capabilities. They are currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management of Technology at The University of Texas at San Antonio and hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
