Mike Lavanway

Mike LaVanway serves as the Director of Business Strategy and Planning at USAA since April 2014, where responsibilities include coaching senior executives in leading organizational change and spearheading a strategic change team for a significant transformation. Previously held roles at USAA include Director of Strategic Change and Human Resources Business Partner Lead, advising on HR functions for over 1,000 employees and overseeing performance management initiatives. Prior military experience includes serving in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces Senior Noncommissioned Officer, where Mike managed training programs and HR functions for a large team. Educational qualifications consist of a Master of Arts in Organizational Development, an Associate of Science in Instructor of Technology and Military Science, an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science, and ongoing studies for a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources.
