Surender Kumar

Surender Kumar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in innovation strategy and business development, currently serving as the Strategic Innovation Director for New Business Ventures & Innovation at USAA since May 2021. In this role, Surender leads cross-functional teams to enhance member and employee experiences through human-centered design and advanced technologies. Prior to USAA, Surender was the Associate Director of Innovation Strategy & Product Management at Allstate, where significant business innovation projects were driven. Surender has also held key positions including Founding Member of the Applied Innovation Council at The Conference Board, Growth Innovation Strategy Leader at Patina Solutions, and various roles at BlackBerry and Motorola, where numerous patents were developed and strategic innovations were realized. Surender holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and dual undergraduate degrees in Physics and Electrical & Electronics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
