Janice Powers is an experienced program manager currently employed at USAging since May 2023. Previously, Janice served as the Regional Coordinator for the COVID-19 Vaccine and Workforce Initiative at the CDC Foundation from September 2021 to October 2022, overseeing a state-wide initiative and leading a team of 140 public health professionals across local health departments. Prior roles include Administrator and Director of Assisted and Independent Living at KMH from May 2018 to January 2020, and Director at Butler County from June 2011 to July 2017, where Janice managed a team focused on career development. Janice began a career in public health as the Health Protection Coordinator at Sedgwick County Health Department from 2006 to 2011. Janice holds a Master's degree in Public Health and a Bachelor's degree in Health Science from Wichita State University.

USAging

USAging is the national association representing and supporting the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocating for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs. Our members help older adults and people with disabilities throughout the United States live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities and support their caregivers. USAging and our members work to improve the quality of life and health of older adults and people with disabilities, including supporting people with chronic illness, people living with dementia, family caregivers and others who want to age well at home and in the community. Together, we are ensuring that all people can age well. Our members are the local leaders that develop, coordinate and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services to support people to age well, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs and more. USAging is dedicated to supporting the success of our members through advancing public policy, sparking innovation, strengthening the capacity of its members, raising their visibility and working to drive excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.
