Julissa Hernandez has a diverse background in advocacy and support for vulnerable populations, currently serving as a Victim Advocate at The Women's Center since June 2023 and as a Legal Assistant with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants since November 2022. Prior experience includes working as a Court Advocate at the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center from July 2020 to November 2022, focusing on supporting survivors of domestic violence, and interning at The Women's Resource Center where Julissa engaged in fundraising and event advocacy. Earlier roles include mentoring unaccompanied minors at the Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island and tutoring individuals to improve English language skills. Julissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies from Salve Regina University and participated in a study abroad program at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2019.
