Bret McClendon

Bret McClendon currently serves as the Principal of McPherson High School within USD 418, a position held since 2009, during which McPherson High School achieved recognition as a Governor's Achievement Award winner, placing it in the top 5% of schools in Kansas. Under Bret McClendon's leadership, USD 418 became one of the first two school districts selected under the Innovative School Districts bill. Prior to this role, Bret McClendon was Principal at El Dorado High School and USD 490, both from August 2002 to June 2009, and worked as a teacher at Washburn Rural Alternative High School from 1999 to 2000. Bret McClendon holds a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Washburn University and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Emporia State University.
