Denton Liu

Denton Liu has a diverse range of work experience in the software engineering and embedded systems fields. Denton has worked as an Infrastructure Engineer at Vesta since March 2023. Prior to that, Denton worked at MuleSoft as a Member of Technical Staff from August 2020 to March 2023.

Denton has also made significant contributions to the Git project as a Contributor at Git Core from September 2018 to May 2021, where they enhanced the code quality and user experience. Denton also had a role at Salesforce as a Software Engineering contractor from September 2019 to December 2019, where they automated build and deployment processes and led the conversion to Python 3.

In addition, Denton has held internships at Marconi Protocol as a Blockchain and Networking Software Engineering Intern, at Bose Corporation as an Embedded Systems Engineering Intern, and at ESCRYPT - Embedded Security as an Embedded Security Developer. At these organizations, they gained experience in patching vulnerabilities, refactoring code, and integrating tools.

Denton's earlier work experience includes a role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo, where they implemented cryptography primitives, and a position as a Software Engineering Intern at Cask Data, where they designed and implemented an optimizer to improve performance.

Furthermore, Denton worked as a Blockchain Engineer at Ledger Labs, where they conducted research and development on state channels and played a role in building and documenting Solidity smart contracts. Overall, Denton Liu's work experience demonstrates their expertise in software engineering, embedded systems, and blockchain technology.

Denton Liu completed their high school education at Martingrove Collegiate Institute from 2011 to 2015. During this time, they participated in the AP program. After high school, Denton attended the University of Waterloo from 2015 to 2020. Denton obtained a Bachelor of Software Engineering (BSE.) degree with a specialization in Software Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Denton obtained a certification as a Certified Bitcoin Professional from the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium in June 2016.
