Sam Schelfhout

Sam Schelfhout has a diverse range of work experience in the software engineering field. Sam co-founded usewhale.io in 2019 and held the roles of Co-Founder, CTO, and Co-founder, Back-end & AI Lead. Prior to that, they owned their own company, Samatics BVBA, since 2017. Sam also worked as a Freelance Software Engineer for Telenet Business from 2020 to 2021 and for ArcelorMittal Belgium from 2017 to 2020. Before that, they worked as a Developer/Analyst for Telenet from 2011 to 2017 and as a .Net Developer for Hostbasket NV from 2008 to 2011. Sam began their career as a Junior .Net Developer at 2-Consult in 2006 before it merged with A-Server in 2007, where they continued to work as a .Net Developer.

Sam Schelfhout attended Sint-Paulusinstituut Herzele from 1997 to 2003, where they obtained a degree in Economy and Modern Languages. Following this, from 2003 to 2006, Sam attended HOWEST - Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen and earned a degree in Multimedia & Communication Technology. In addition to their formal education, Sam received certification as a Certified ScrumMaster® from Scrum Alliance in June 2016.
