Célio Alves

Célio Alves has extensive work experience in the industrial and manufacturing sector. Célio started their career at Gerdau S.A. as a Technical Advisor and worked in various maintenance roles, progressing from a mechanic to a facilitator and ultimately an assessor. Célio gained experience in areas such as Aciaria, Alto Forno, and Central Maintenance in locations such as Divinópolis-MG and Barão de Cocais-MG. After their time at Gerdau, they joined Votorantim Cimentos S/A as a Maintenance Coordinator before moving to thyssenkrupp, where they served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Planning, Control, and Engineering Coordinator, and Maintenance Manager. Their recent work experience includes roles at Ternium, where they held positions such as Corporate Maintenance Manager and Director of Maintenance and Services. Currently, Célio Alves is working as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at USIMINAS, a position they assumed in August 2023. Throughout their career, Célio has demonstrated expertise in strategic maintenance planning, improving performance and stability, and managing critical repairs.

Célio Alves holds a Bachelor's degree in Maintenance Engineering from the Universidade de Itaúna, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Célio pursued further studies in Siderurgy through a Postgraduate program at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais from 2005 to 2006. Célio then obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Management from IAG - Escola de Negócios da PUC-Rio between 2017 and 2018. More recently, they enrolled in the Executive MBA program at The Wharton School in 2023, specializing in the Leaders Executive Program.
