Acoustic Engineer at USound

Alexander Vilkaitis has a diverse work experience in various roles related to sound engineering and technical services. Alexander is currently employed as an Acoustic Engineer at USound GmbH since November 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Derby starting from August 2015. Alexander also had experience as a Freelance Live Event Engineer at their own company, Alexander Vilkaitis Technical Services, starting from December 2014.

During their time at the University of Derby as a student from September 2011 to July 2014, they gained experience in the field. Alexander also worked as a Casual Technician at Derby Theatre from November 2013 to April 2014, and as a Production Manager for the Open Road Album Launch in October 2013. Additionally, Alexander worked as a Sound Engineer for various productions including Whistle Down the Wind by the National Youth Music Theatre and Kesho Amahoro at the International Youth Arts Festival, both in July 2013.

Alexander was also a Sound Engineer at Sheffield Theatres for the Bill Kenwright UK tour of Evita in June 2013. Alexander completed a training program at ESS in May 2013, where they learned about flying and system configuration and optimization for various sound equipment.

Alexander Vilkaitis has a strong educational background in audio and music technology. Alexander obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Spatial Audio for Theatre from the University of Derby, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Prior to their Ph.D., they completed a Master's Degree in Audio and Music Technology from the University of York in 2015. Alexander also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sound, Light and Live Event Technology, which they earned from the University of Derby between 2011 and 2014.

In addition to their academic degrees, Alexander has obtained certifications in language fluency. Alexander has completed the Duolingo German Fluency: Elementary (Estimated) certification in August 2016 and the Duolingo French Fluency: Beginner (Estimated) certification in May 2016. Both of these certifications were obtained from Duolingo.
