Chris Colwell

Chris Colwell currently serves as the Vice President of International Government & Regulatory Affairs at US Pharmacopeia since December 2023. Prior to this role, Chris held various leadership positions at Merck & Co. (MSD), including Executive Director of Asia Pacific and China Policy and Executive Director of International Vaccines Policy. Experience at BD includes Senior Director of Public Affairs for Greater Asia and Director of Worldwide Public Policy. Chris also provided consultancy services as a Senior Advisor at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP and directed Healthcare Regulatory Affairs at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO). Before these roles, Chris worked as a Policy Advisor at the FDA and a Policy and Research Fellow at PhRMA. Early career included managing vaccine manufacturing operations at Merck from 1993 to 2002. Chris earned a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University.
