Derek Sakris is a Regional Emergency Coordinator with extensive experience in public health and emergency preparedness. Derek has held key positions with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including serving as a Biodefense Analyst and Medical Planner, and has worked as a Quarantine Public Health Advisor at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Previously, Derek managed the Transportation Safety Program for the National Park Service and provided environmental health services in various capacities, including remote Alaska native communities. Currently, Derek is pursuing multiple graduate certificates while holding a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Illinois State University.
