Joseph Perez is a highly experienced medical professional currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard District 5 since July 2007. In this role, Joseph oversees healthcare for over 40,000 personnel across numerous clinics, managing a diverse team of medical officers, dentists, and health services technicians. Joseph has held various leadership positions, including serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the USCG Academy and Chief Medical Officer for the USCG Atlantic Area, providing strategic medical guidance to high-ranking officials. Additionally, Joseph is a USPHS Officer, has contributed to disaster response efforts, and has held significant roles in the American Academy of Family Physicians. Joseph's educational background includes an MD from Weill Cornell Medical College, an MBA in Health Care Administration, and a BA in Biology from Brown University.
