Kenneth Phillips

CDR K. Scott Phillips, USPHS, is currently the Chief of the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry at the FDA Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. In this role, they oversee confirmatory testing for biologics and review lot release testing protocols. Previously, they served as a Lead Reviewer in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health and held various research positions where they contributed significantly to the field of regulatory science and medical device technology. With over 50 publications and a successful mentorship record, they are noted for developing innovative strategies in antimicrobial device performance testing and have received several accolades for their contributions to public health. Phillips holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside, and has been a Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service since 2009.
