Maria Said is currently a Medical Officer at the FDA and has served as the Epidemiology Branch Chief for the National Park Service from 2017 to 2024. Maria previously worked as a Medical Officer at the FDA and held roles at the CDC as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer and as an Infectious Disease Fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Completing an Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Maria also served as a Volunteer in the Peace Corps and is a Captain in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service since 2011. Maria holds a BA from Yale University, an MHS from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an MD from Harvard Medical School.
