Samuel Schaffzin has extensive experience in health policy and compliance, currently serving as the Acting Director of the Provider Compliance & Enforcement Division at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services since April 2009. In this role, Samuel leads initiatives related to the Consolidated Appropriations Act and the No Surprises Act, collaborating with various regulatory authorities to enhance compliance and enforcement processes within the private health insurance market. Previous positions include Co-Lead for Provider Compliance & Enforcement, Deputy Director for the Division of HITECH & MMIS, and Technical Director for Medicaid Health IT, demonstrating a strong background in Medicaid IT oversight and strategic direction. Samuel has also held roles at the Office of the Surgeon General, American Red Cross, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration in Health Policy & Management from NYU and a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.
