Mark Goldberg

Associate Vice President For Strategic Research Initiatives at UT Health San Antonio

Mark Goldberg has a strong background in the medical field and neuroscience. Mark has held various roles at different institutions throughout their career. Currently, they are working at UT Health San Antonio as the Associate Vice President for Strategic Research Initiatives. Mark is also the Group Co-Leader for the UTSA Matrix AI Consortium for Human Well Being and serves as the Executive Committee Chair for the Lone Star Stroke Consortium. Prior to their current position, they worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center as the Director of the Haggerty Center for Research on Brain Injury and Repair in Stroke and as the Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics. Mark also served as the Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics. Before that, they were at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where they were the Founding Director of the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders and a Professor.

Mark Goldberg obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Harvard University in 1980. From 1984 to 1988, they pursued their Neurology Residency Program at Stanford University School of Medicine. Following that, they went on to complete a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Neurology at Stanford University School of Medicine from 1989 to 1991. In 1984, they acquired their MD degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prior to their higher education, Mark Goldberg attended Francis W. Parker School from 1974 to 1976.
