Patrick Ramsey has over 25 years of work experience in the field of medicine. Patrick began their career as a Resident Physician at Mayo Medical Center in 1994. Patrick then worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as an Assistant Professor and later became an Associate Professor from 2001 to 2009. After that, they joined Obstetrix/Texas Perinatal Group, where they served as a Physician and MFM Transport Director from 2009 to 2013. Patrick then worked at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University as a Physician/MFM Fellowship Director in 2013 and 2014. Currently, they hold a position at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio/University Health System, where they are a Professor, Director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship, and Medical Director of Maternal Transport since 2014.

Patrick Ramsey has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, which they obtained from 1983 to 1987. Patrick then pursued Medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, earning their MD degree from 1990 to 1994. Following this, they went to the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine for their Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program from 1994 to 1998. Afterwards, they attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for a Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship from 1998 to 2001. Finally, they completed their education with a Master of Public Health (MPSH) degree in Epidemiology/International Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health from 2002 to 2004.
