Mark Turner has a diverse work experience in software engineering and technical leadership roles. Mark started their career at IBM as a Software Engineer in 1987. Mark then worked at Novell/Corel/Wordperfect for 8 years, where they served as a Software Engineer Consultant, Senior Software Engineer, and Development Manager. After that, they joined GeoDiscovery/RealDiscovery/Nocturnal Engineering as a Chief Software Architect and Senior Software Engineer, where they developed location-based mapping products and GPS tracking applications. Mark then worked at Avinti Inc as a Technical Lead/Senior Software Engineer, where they created behavioral malware scanning technology. Mark later joined Symantec Inc as a Principal Software Engineer/Technical Lead, where they developed cloud-based solutions and event management systems. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Software Engineer/Technical Lead at Utah State University, working on exciting projects with spacedynamics.org. Mark also owns TNT Adventures, where they provide software engineering consulting and solutions, as well as guide services for boating and canyoneering excursions.
