Lucas Roebuck

VP for Marketing & Communications at The University of Texas at El Paso

Lucas Roebuck is currently the Vice President for Marketing and Communications at The University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President for Marketing and Chief Communications Officer at the University of Texas at Tyler from July 2017 to June 2021. In this role, they provided strategic, visionary and technical leadership for all university marketing, recruiting and branding efforts, oversaw enrollment management, corporate communications, the internal creative agency, web development, media production, the print shop and media relations, and was actively engaged in supporting UT Tyler's community engagement initiatives.

From January 2017 to July 2017, Lucas served on the Board of Directors for the City of Siloam Springs. Lucas won the position 5 at-large seat with 70 percent of the vote. As a director, they advocated for economic development, efficient governance, quality of life initiatives and limited government.

Prior to their time in Siloam Springs, Lucas served as the Chief Communications Officer and Director of Government Relations at John Brown University from July 2009 to July 2017. In this role, they were responsible for leading JBU's marketing and media relations efforts, as well as developing and implementing strategies for state and federal government relations.

Before their work in higher education administration, Lucas was a journalism professor at Northwest Nazarene University from July 2007 to July 2009.

Lucas Roebuck has a MA in Journalism from the University of Arkansas and a BS in Journalism, English, and Education from John Brown University.

Lucas Roebuck works with Andrea Cortinas - VP & Chief of Staff, Mark McGurk - Vice President for Business Affairs, and Luis Hernandez - Vice President for Information Resources. Their manager is Heather Wilson, President.
