Shawn Kain, CPCU, CIC, ARe, MBA has a comprehensive work experience in the insurance industry. Shawn worked at Utica First Insurance Company from 1998 to present as the Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Privacy Officer. In this role, they demonstrated their expertise in various areas such as staff development, team building, corporate planning, and implementation of new technologies. Shawn also excelled in property and casualty insurance, including product development, contract analysis, reinsurance negotiation, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, they played an active part in industry boards and committees and engaged in community volunteering. Furthermore, they worked as a Financial Analyst at John Hancock in 1997 and as a Customer Relations Expert at Metropolitan P&C from 1993 to 1996.

Shawn Kain, CPCU, CIC, ARe, MBA has an extensive education history. In 1994, they began their undergraduate studies in finance at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, which they completed in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Following this, Kain pursued further education at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University from 1997 to 1998, where they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Portfolio Management and Investment Analysis.

In 2018, Kain participated in the Executive Education Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, specializing in Insurance through The Institutes. In addition to their formal education, they have also earned multiple certifications. Kain holds the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation from The Institutes, as well as the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Furthermore, they have obtained the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from The Institutes and holds a New York State Brokers License from the New York State Insurance Department.
