Joe Cate's work experience began in 2004 as an Associate Pastor at John Wesley United Methodist Church. Joe then served as a Pastor at Point Hope United Methodist Church from 2007 to 2011. From 2011 to 2015, Joe worked as an Associate Pastor at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. Joe then became the Senior Pastor at Memorial United Methodist Church in Greer from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, Joe joined Utility Partners of America as a Project Delivery Manager. Currently, they are serving as a Minister at The United Methodist Church starting in 2022.
Joe Cate obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from The Citadel, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. Joe then pursued a Master's degree in Divinity/Ministry from Emory University, attending from 2000 to 2003. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also received a certification as an Elder in Full Connection from the South Carolina Annual Conference in June 2007.
