Tom Blooming

Tom Blooming has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering, with a focus on power systems. Tom began their career as a Power Systems Engineer at Cooper Power Systems in 1990 and worked there until 1998. Tom then joined Keweenaw Power Systems of MN, LLC as a Power Systems Specialist from 1998 to 2001. Tom then joined Eaton Electrical in 2001 and held various roles including Senior Project Engineer, Senior Product Engineer, and Power Quality Application Engineer until 2008. From 2008 to 2020, they worked at Google as a Data Center Engineer. After that, they joined Facebook as a Data Center Strategic Engineer and worked there until 2022. Currently, they are employed at UtilityInnovation Group as a Principal Systems Engineer since 2023.

Tom Blooming obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Tom then pursued a Master's degree in Electric Power Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1993 to 1994. Continuing their education, Tom completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) in Business Administration at Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University from 1994 to 1998.
