Dries Hegger

Dries Hegger is an Associate Professor of Regional Water and Climate Governance at Utrecht University, where responsibilities include serving as a board member of the Water, Climate and Future Deltas Community and leading various educational programs. Research focuses on regional governance related to water and climate, with significant projects such as TRANS-ADAPT, which emphasizes community-based flood risk management. Hegger is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Earth System Governance Project, contributing to a global network on governance and environmental change, and has previously held roles in postdoctoral research and environmental policy at Wageningen University. Dries Hegger holds a PhD in Environmental Sociology and an MSc in Consumer Studies from Wageningen University.
