Rolf Strootman

Rolf Strootman has extensive experience in academia, currently serving as Chair of Ancient History and Associate Professor at Utrecht University since 2002, following roles as Assistant Professor at the same institution. Strootman was a Getty Scholar at the Getty Research Institute in 2017-2018 and a Visiting Professor at UCLA for a brief period in 2011. Previous academic positions include Assistant Professor and PhD Researcher at Leiden University from 1997 to 2002. Earlier in his career, Strootman worked as a Management Assistant at Voorzieningsfonds voor Kunstenaars from 1994 to 1996. Educational qualifications include a BA and MA in History from Leiden University, a BA in Cultural Management from Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, and a BA in Museologie from Reinwardt Academie.
