Allison Gillam has a diverse work experience. Allison started their career as a Senior Audit Associate at KPMG in 2007 and worked there until 2011. In 2011, they joined AEW Capital Management as an Associate and worked there until 2012. Afterwards, they joined UVIMCO, where they had various roles including Senior Investment Accountant from 2012 to 2014, Manager of Investment Accounting and Reporting from 2015 to 2017, Director of Investment Operations from 2017 to 2018, and currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer since 2018.
Allison Gillam attended the University of Virginia from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a specialization in Accounting. Allison later pursued a Master's degree in Accounting at the same university, completing their studies in 2007. In 2005, Allison had a study abroad experience at the University of Bath, focusing on Business.

The University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO) provides investment management services for the University of Virginia and its associated organizations in support of UVA’s mission, strategy, and operating goals. UVA’s endowment and other long-term funds are invested in UVIMCO’s Long Term Pool, which is custom-managed for the risk tolerance and endowment spending requirements of the University. Endowed funds serve as a sustainable source of funding that fuel the University’s mission of developing responsible citizen leaders and professionals; advancing, preserving, and disseminating knowledge; and providing world class patient care. UVIMCO actively manages the Long Term Pool in a manner carefully designed to provide substantial and growing stream of income to support UVA, while preserving the purchasing power of its long-term assets for future generations. UVIMCO also manages a Short Term Pool for the University and its associated organizations with near-term liquidity needs.
