Laura Pappas, CPA, is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in various controller roles, currently serving as the Controller for UWM Foundation, Inc. since April 2022. Pappas held similar positions at the Donald Driver Foundation, Lammi Sports Management, and Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame from May 2015 to October 2022, and previously at Mahler Enterprises between 2010 and 2015. Earlier in Pappas's career, experience includes roles in tax at CJN&W CPAs (2003-2006) and audit at Ernst & Young (1996-2001). Pappas earned a degree in Accounting, International Business, and French from Marquette University from 1992 to 1996.

The Mission of the UWM Foundation is to support the educational, literary and scientific endeavors of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee by receiving, managing and distributing gifts to benefit the University's students, faculty, programs and community. In addition, the UWM Foundation provides leadership, oversight and direction to its affiliated corporations, the UWM Real Estate Foundation and the UWM Research Foundation. These corporations create new University facilities to support student life, research, academics and regional economic development, and provide new sources of revenue from research commercialization and entrepreneurial activities.
