Maarten Albersen

Maarten Albersen is an experienced urologist at UZ Leuven since January 2015, specializing in andrology and oncology. Concurrently, Albersen serves as a basic research fellow at the Laboratory of Experimental Urology, focusing on adipose stem cell therapy for cavernous nerve injury-induced erectile dysfunction. Albersen held the position of Scientific Chairman for the European Society for Sexual Medicine from March 2012 to August 2016 and has participated in various research roles, including fellowships at UCSF and Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele Milano. Albersen obtained a PhD in Molecular and Stem Cell Medicine from KU Leuven and has a comprehensive educational background in medicine, including a medical degree from KU Leuven and a BS from Hasselt University.
