Sebastien Goethals

Sebastien Goethals is an experienced ophthalmologist and medical consultant with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Penningmeester at BBO-SOOS since May 2024, Sebastien also holds positions as an Oogarts at Oogcentrum Hasselt and Jessa ziekenhuis since January 2017, and has been a consulent medische retina at UZ Leuven since August 2003. From January 2011 to December 2016, Sebastien led the ophthalmology department as diensthoofd at Europaziekenhuizen Sint-Elisabeth and worked at Europaziekenhuizen Sint-Elisabeth Ukkel as an Oogarts from August 2003 to December 2016. Educational achievements include a degree in Ophtalmologie from KU Leuven (1999 - 2003) and a Doctor (dr) degree in Algemene geneeskunde from KU Leuven (1992 - 1999), complemented by earlier education at SJC Woluwe (1984 - 1992).
